STATE FOP ISSUES STATEMENT RECOGNIZING SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 2, 2026) — Fraternal Order of Police Pennsylvania State Lodge President Joseph Regan today issued the following statement recognizing Suicide Prevention Month:
            "September is Suicide Prevention Month, and for law enforcement, this conversation matters. Members of law enforcement see and experience things most people never will. They carry the weight of tragedy, violence and loss while being expected to remain strong and keep moving forward.

“The PA FOP stands with every officer who may be struggling. We must have each other’s backs on and off duty. Make the call. Ask the tough questions. Speak up when something doesn’t seem right. Asking for help is not a weakness; it is a strength.

“To every officer: Your life matters. You matter to your family, your fellow officers and the communities you serve. There is no shame in reaching out.

“This month and every month, we need to break the stigma, look out for one another and make sure every officer understands they do not have to fight these battles alone.

“Reach out. Speak up. Stay connected. We need you here.
