Jacques F. Rougeau, Jr.

Trooper Jay Rougeau was shot and killed by a wanted man near the intersection of Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive in Walker Township shortly after 3:00 pm.

At 12:45 pm, the subject, 38, had entered the parking lot of the Pennsylvania State Police's Lewistown Barracks and opened up on troopers, critically wounding a State Police lieutenant. During the subsequent manhunt, Trooper Rougeau located the subject in a wooded area and the two exchanged gunfire. Trooper Rougeau and the man were both killed in the shootout.
