STATE FOP RE-ELECTS LES NERI AS PRESIDENT

Harrisburg, Pa. (Aug. 2, 2018)

 The Fraternal Order of Police Pennsylvania State Lodge re-elected Les Neri to serve his fifth term as president of the organization. The entire Neri team won the election in early August and will serve two-year terms in office. The election concluded the PA FOP 45th Biennial Conference at the Hilton Harrisburg.

             “I am truly humbled to be re-elected to serve the FOP State Lodge,” said Neri, who resides in Downingtown, Chester County. “The dangers of our profession are felt each day, which is why I am very proud to continue my unwavering support for the brave men and women who serve our communities each and every day. My team and I remain committed to protecting the rights and improving the working conditions for Pennsylvania’s law enforcement officers.”          

             The following individuals were also chosen to serve the FOP State Lodge:

  • Roosevelt Poplar of Philadelphia, re-elected to serve as vice president;
  • Joseph Regan of Montgomery County, re-elected to serve as recording secretary;
  • Joseph Fitzgerald of Delaware County, re-elected to serve as financial secretary;
  • John Fiorill of Lancaster County, elected to serve as second vice president;
  • Colette Smith of Berks County, re-elected to serve as trustee;
  • William J. Buttenbusch IV of Montgomery County, re-elected to serve as trustee;
  • Gene Hatcher of Lehigh County, re-elected to serve as trustee;
  • Joseph Brown of Berks County, elected to serve as treasurer;
  • James Harrity of Delaware County, elected to serve as national trustee;
  • Vince DiCenzo Jr. of Allegheny County, elected to serve as trustee;
  • Kenneth Kensill of Erie, elected to serve as sergeant at arms;
  • Jason Brinker of Harrisburg, Dauphin County, elected to serve as trustee; and
  • Kim Sweeney of Allegheny County, elected to serve as trustee.
        Neri retired as a detective from the Tredyffrin Township Police Department. He went on to serve as the president of Chester County Lodge No. 11, the State Lodge financial secretary, and the State Lodge vice president. He has been the State Lodge president since 2008, and the national second vice president since 2015.
